Grande Sertão: Veredas #1. A terrain made of noise and water that only knows how to go downhill: every frame the ground is flooded from the edges so no drop gets stuck (priority-flood), then each cell passes all the rain it received to its steepest neighbour (D8 flow accumulation). Nobody draws a river; the black lines are only where a lot of rain happened to pass, and where the flood had to fill a hollow the water stands still, cut as horizontal lines like a woodcut lagoa. The ground breathes through the loop and the rivers redraw themselves: a tributary is captured, a branch dries, another takes its place.
